Official policies and announcements

The curriculum being introduced in Relief Society for 1998 does not replace instructions regarding homemaking meeting. Homemaking activities should continue to focus applying gospel principles taught in Relief Society lessons to help sisters meet daily challenges and live the gospel in their homes. There should be a balance of activities that develop homemaking skills, develop each sister's spirituality and help the sisters provide service to others.

Home management lesson material is not included in the new manual. Consequently, information for home management lessons can be taken from the following sources: Providing in the Lord's Way (32296), The Latter-day Saint Woman A (31113 and B (3114), principles taught in Sunday lessons, Ensign articles, or self-reliance and provident living material from previous Relief Society manuals.Source: Church Notice, Oct. 13, 1997
