The Utah Polynesian Choir is looking for new members. The choir was organized in 1989 for the centennial commemoration of the Iosepa settlement and to sing at LDS General Conference.
The choir presents sacred music once a month at Wasatch Front LDS sacrament meetings as well as for fireside programs. The choir often joins a Polynesian show that is available for hire. "The Polynesian show helps us raise needed money for uniforms, travel and music," said Clara Silva, president of the Iosepa Historical Association and cultural chair for the choir. If you are Polynesian or "Polynesian-at-heart" and would like to join the choir, call Kuinise Matagi, the choir's music director, at 225-8227.
