Death: Dale ""Bocky"" Welling

At 3:50 p.m. on January 27, 1998, "Bocky" inspired his last and most heartfelt "Damn you Dale Welling" from his loving and beautiful wife of 54 years, Gladys.

Born on August 22, 1921 in Brigham City, Utah, Dale immediately started raising havoc at every opportunity, with his innate sense of fun and humor. Tall tales were his specialty, and his stories will become part of his legacy. From Naval Aircraft Carrier fly-boy to international magazine cover boy, Dale enjoyed a life of peril and intrigue before falling in love with Gladys, having three loving daughters, Vicki Johnston of Denver; Marsha (Mrs. Tom) Orr of Tucson; and Sheri (Mrs. Pete) Sense of Tucson; and becoming "Bocky" to nine grandchildren who adored him, Jeff (Linda), Steve (Lori), and Bob Johnston of Denver; Mike (Anne), and Tiffany Orr of Tucson; Andy, Brian and Kirsten Sense of Tucson; and one great grandson, Nicholas Johnston; and his best friend, dog Buddy. Preceded in death by grandson, Donald Brent Orr, his parents, many brothers and sisters.Until we meet again, you will be in our hearts.

Services will be at graveside on Thursday, January 29, at 3 p.m., Evergreen Mortuary and Cemetery, No. Oracle Road, Tucson, Arizona.
