House plan: Freedom

SHARE House plan: Freedom

The charm of the 1,952-square-foot Freedom is evident at first glance. An old-fashioned covered porch, with skylights and railing to the front, along with a beautiful wood and brick exterior create a homey atmosphere that is sure to attract appreciative glances. Walk up the steps into the vaulted entry and discover a floor design that makes very effective use of the available space.

The hallway, to the left of the entry, leads to an exquisite master suite that projects outward from the rest of the house, providing a full view of the surrounding area and an assurance of privacy. Amenities include a private skylit bathroom and a huge walk-in closet.Directly across the hall are two identical bedrooms that are situated where anxious parents can easily check on small children. Each has generous closet space and a view window. Another full skylit bathroom, with linen storage, is in the hallway.

The living room and dining room, both with vaulted ceilings, occupy the center of the floor plan. The living room has a built-in corner wood stove to keep everyone nice and cozy. The dining room is located adjacent to the kitchen, a fact that is sure to please the cook in the family. The large walk-in kitchen features a step-in pantry and a convenient eating bar, perfect for informal meals.

The remainder of the design incorporates a small home office, with a built-in desk, and a handy utility room located near the door to the two-car garage. The utility room permits soiled shoes and clothing to be dropped off before entering the main part of the home, and groceries can be carried directly into the kitchen from the car.
