The Rich Rebels had to travel almost 400 miles just to get to the 1A boys basketball tournament this week. Now they're making the long trip worth every mile.

The Rebels advanced to the 1A semifinal round with a 62-39 shellacking of Region 14 champion Dugway in Thursday's quarterfinal action at Southern Utah University's Centrum.Brandon Kennedy fired in 18 points to guide Rich (16-7) to its third-ever semifinal appearance. Aaron Hoody had 16 for the Mustangs (20-3).

Rich will face Milford (14-9) at 7:30 p.m. for a spot in Saturday's championship game. The other semi-final is the marquee matchup as the two top-ranked teams - Tabiona (22-1) and Panguitch (22-1) - face each other at 6 p.m.

MILFORD 62, WAYNE 53: Brady Williams scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half to lead the Tigers past the Badgers.

TABIONA 67, PIUTE 55: Top-ranked Tabiona got 30 points from Levi Gines to set up the anticipated showdown with second-ranked Pan-guitch in the semifinals.

PANGUITCH 90, WENDOVER 40: Six Panguitch players scored between 10 and 12 points, topped by Henry James' dozen.

In consolation action Thursday, Valley beat Meridian, 57-37; Waterford edged Bryce Valley, 67-66; Green River downed Salt Lake Lutheran, 54-44; and Manila defeated Intermountain Christian, 72-64.
