Provo police charters Cadet Explorer program

The Provo Police Department has chartered a Police Cadet Explorer program with the Boy Scouts of America.

A recruitment night is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Provo Eldred Center, 270 W. 500 North. The group is geared for youth ages 14 to 20 who are seeking an opportunity to experience Law Enforcement."Ride-alongs, administration, CPR, physical fitness, police tactic training, reports and filing, dispatch and community and elementary education programs will all be a part of the Provo Police Cadet program," said officer Brad Burr, adviser to the post.

The Utah County Sheriff's office also sponsors a Law Enforcement Explorer Post. For more information about the Provo Police Post contact the Utah National Parks Council at 373-4185.
