Jerry Gardner, who specializes in mime, movement and martial arts, is a visiting instructor for the University of Utah's Theatre School for Youth program.
Xan S. Johnson, newly appointed chair of the U.'s department of theater and founder of TSY, said Gardner will add "significant depth to the program, particularly the teen session, which runs on campus July 6-31."Johnson said Gardner has a wide range of experience, including training Buddhist monks in Nepal.
"The teen session attracts talented young people, 13-18, who are likely to continue in the theater. Jerry's background in movement is especially exciting for kids who are ready to refine their skills," he said.
The award-winning school, now in its 16th year, features workshops and public performances. For further information, or to audition for the school, call Tracy Hall at 581-6098.
