Evelyn Anna Kmetzsch Cole, 85, was born February 24, 1913 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert C. and Elsie A. Stelter Kmetzsch. She passed away June 11, 1998 in West Valley City. She resided in Kaysville.

Evelyn grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from LDS Business College. Serving an LDS mission to the Eastern States, she took part in the first Hill Cumorah Pageant. After her mission, she returned to Buffalo, New York, and married Edwin M. Cole, Sr., August 31, 1937. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, October 1, 1940.Evelyn enthusiastically served in many positions in the LDS church, sharing her talents and gifts with everyone. She loved to serve, and served with love...most especially to her family.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Edwin M. (Jean) Cole, Jr., Murray; two daughters, Elsie C. (Marv) Halliday, Kaysville; Evelina K. (Sterling) Day, West Valley City; daughter-in-law, Susan Higginson, West Jordan; brothers, Ralph Kmetzsch, Salt Lake City; Melvin Kmetzsch, El Paso, TX; brother-in-law, Richard Hoffman, Holladay; sister-in-law, Carol Kmetzsch; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin M. Cole, Sr., son, Albert R. Cole, brother, Albert Kmetzsch, and sister, Margaret Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, where friends may call Sunday, June 14, 1998 from 6-8 p.m., and on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
