A baby was critically injured during a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon.

A northbound car on Redwood Road, driven by Ginger Mahe, 24, address unavailable, lost control near 6350 South and went off the road, hitting a telephone post, a fence and a cement wall, said Salt Lake County deputy sheriff Bob Rogers. The car had been traveling between 45 and 50 miles per hour.Mahe's son, Calob Swenson, 2 months, apparently was thrown from a car seat during the crash and was taken by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Medical Center in critical condition with head injuries.

Mahe and passengers Lonnie Swenson, 24, and Cody Mahe, 6, sustained minor injuries and were taken to LDS Hospital by ambulance.

Weather conditions did not play a factor in the incident, Rogers said.
