The historic Mormon Miracle Pageant will be presented on temple hill June 18-20 and again June 23-27.

Newly appointed pageant president is Jay Cluff, Manti. New assistant directors are Linda Bateman of Ephraim, Mark Lyons of Gunnison and Diane Keeler of Manti.Cluff said that new costuming and scenery would highlight this year's presentation of the world-renowned event, which last year attracted 145,000 spectators during the eight nights of presentations.

New screens on temple hill will serve as blinds for the cast members as well as openings through which scenes will be portrayed. This change will be a real benefit to stage crews because fewer props will need to be moved on and off the stage.

New technology will enhance the quality of the sound tape, although no changes have been made in the script.

Bleachers will be set up in the streets west and south of the main seating area to accommodate late-comers and overflow crowds.

Restroom facilities have been upgraded and handicapped access will be available.

Manti city has decided to make commercial booth space available only at locations off Main Street, particularly in the area of l00 East and 400 North, to relieve traffic movement. With the approval of the Sanpete County Commission, vendor locations will be limited to the exhibition building area in the fairgrounds.

Cluff said that attendance this year is expected at around 150,000.

Home-cooked dinners will be served in the LDS ward houses on Main Street beginning at 6 p.m. Breakfasts will be served by the youth groups on the mornings following pageant presentations, except on Sundays.
