SHARE Heritage Days begin Monday in Syracuse

Heritage Days, a weeklong celebration of community will begin Monday, June 15. The schedule of events includes:

June 15: Free concert in the Park, featuring the Syracuse quartet "One Voice," Founders Park, 7 p.m.June 17: Baby Contest at City Office, 4:30 p.m.

June 18: Heritage Days Horse Show at the Rodeo Arena on 2700 West. Awards will be given in three categories: 13 and under, 14 to 18 and adult. Call Ed Brandle, 776-7311.

June 19: Golf Tournament at the new Syracuse Golf Course. Call Norm Hansen, 825-2081, for sign-up and tee times.

Old Timers Softball Game: Softball lovers ages 45 and up start their game at 6 p.m. in Founder's Park.

Heritage Days Dance starts at 8 p.m. at Founders Park. Admission is $3 per person or $10 for a family.

June 20: 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk: Runners and walkers meet at Syracuse Elementary School, 8 a.m. Registration is $15 before June 15 and $18 after. On-site registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Call 776-1076.

Heritage Days Parade: The parade will start at 2700 South and 2000 West, 9 a.m.

Heritage Days Activities: Founder's Park, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities include three-on-three basketball, softball and baseball tournaments, skydivers, food and a boutique.

Dutch Oven Dinner: 7 p.m., Founder's Park. Tickets can be purchased by calling 825-6641. Cost is $6.50 per person.

Fireworks will light up the sky at dark.
