Vera Orvin Turner, 79, of Orem, died Sunday, June 14, 1998 at her home.
She was born February 19, 1919 in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Harry L. and Hulda Bunnell Orvin.She grew up in Vineyard and attended Orem schools. She was married and later divorced. She had worked in Lamont's Department Store, Seattle, Washington for over 20 years. She was an avid gardner, loved flowers and making gifts from ceramics and crocheting. She played golf in her younger years and won many awards. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by a daughter and son, Jeannene H. Pettit, Orem; Donald O. Holm, Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Harry and Lloyd Orvin, Renee Crosby, all of St. George, Utah; and Erma Butler, Salt Lake City. Other survivors include a step-son and step-daughter, Robert Turner and Deanna Nordstrom, Salt Lake.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 18, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Orem City Cemetery, 1550 North 800 East, Orem. Friends may call Thursday at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
