The five-member Alpine School District Board of Education will discuss the budget for the fiscal year at a 6 p.m. today at district headquarters, 757 N. 100 East.
The tentative budget totals $233,527,991 - an increase of 11.2 percent. Potential monies from the proposed $66.9 million bond and leeway proposal to be voted on June 23 was included in the budget."It's a little awkward to include these funds in the budget since the public has not made the decision yet," said James Hansen, budget director. "But under state law, the budget has to be adopted before June 22 and must include all potential revenues. If patrons reject the proposal, we'll re-adjust the final budget in August."
Prior to the consideration of the budget, the board will take comments from the public.
