A draft of the Sevier River Basin Plan, a part of the Utah State Water Plan, will be aired in four southern Utah cities beginning June 23. Officials said the meetings will give the public the opportunity to review the plan.
The draft plan has been prepared by a state interagency committee headed by the Division of Water Resources. Federal and state agencies, a statewide advisory group and a Sevier River Basin planning advisory group have been involved.The meetings will be at 7 p.m. on the following schedule: June 23, Delta City Council chambers, 76 N. 200 West, in Delta; June 24, Sevier County Courthouse auditorium, 250 North Main, in Richfield; June 30, commission chambers in the Garfield County Courthouse, 55 South Main, in Panguitch; and July 1, new courtroom in the Sanpete County Courthouse at 160 North Main in Manti.
A question and answer period is planned and verbal and written comments may be submitted at the meetings. Written comments may also be sent to the Division, directed to the attention of Eric Millis, Box 146201, Salt Lake City, UT 84114-6201.
