The Internal Revenue Service will sponsor a Problem Solving Day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at its office at 50 S. 200 East.
The day was designed for taxpayers who have had persistent problems resolving their accounts, obtaining a refund they think they are due or receiving bills for taxes that they believe they have paid. The June 18 event will put special emphasis on helping small-business owners.Employees from the Utah State Tax Commission also will be available to help with issues involving state taxes.
The IRS is asking taxpayers who want help to make an appointment in advance by calling 799-6600 or 1-800-829-1040.
