Plan to spend June 27 in a daze.
In fact, plan to make that daze Taylorsville Dayzz.The city's second annual birthday celebration will begin at noon with a parade along 5400 South from Redwood Road to Valley Regional Park at 5135 S. 2700 West.
And that's just for starters.
When the procession ends, the park will be the focus of a full afternoon of community activities that will include art exhibits, a puppet show, a silent auction, carnival rides and games, and music and dance groups on three separate stages through 6 p.m.
There will also be magic and pantomime shows, jugglers, balloon makers, clowns, face painters and caricature artists on hand throughout the day.
Booths offering arts, crafts and children's activities as well as a variety of food will be open.
In addition, immunizations for children under 2 will be provided free of charge at The Care-A-Van.
The Taylorsville Children's Theater will perform at 5:30 p.m., and the winner of the "If I Were Mayor" essay contest will be announced at 6:30.
Two performances of the Broadway Musical Review are also sched-uled - at 6:30 and 8 p.m.
During the week prior to the Saturday celebration, an art exhibit will be on display at the city offices, 2520 W. 4700 South, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Sponsors are still being sought for the event, and food vendors must apply to the city prior to the celebration.
