Our dearest mother, sister and friend, Marilyn Lloyd Adams, of Las Vegas, formerly of Salt Lake City, passed away June 12, 1998 in Las Vegas after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
She was born in Idaho Falls on November 30, 1946, to Clifford B and Thurza Lloyd. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1965. She married James Donald Adams, December 31, 1969. They moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where they were later divorced. While in Ft. Wayne, she attended and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor degree in Music and Education. In 1982 she moved to Salt Lake City, where she attended the University of Utah and received a second Bachelor degree in Elementary Education.She began her teaching career at Western Hills Elementary in 1986. She was a very dedicated teacher with a special gift of loving, caring and understanding her children.
She was active in the LDS Church and held positions in the Primary and Relief Society. Her joy in life was helping others and being close to the mountains she loved. She will be greatly missed in the hearts and memories of her family, friends and countless students.
She is survived by two sons, Sean Nicholas Adams, of Salt Lake City; and Troy Douglas Adams, of Boise, ID; a brother, Clifford P. Lloyd; and sister, JoAnne Lloyd, of Las Vegas, NV; and a brother, Alan B. Lloyd, of Broomfield, CO.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m. in the LDS Cottonwood 10th Ward, 4930 So. Westmoor Road, Holladay, with Bishop Scot Gagon officiating. A viewing will be held at the chapel before the funeral from 12:45 to 1:45. Burial Saturday, 10 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery, Idaho Falls under the direction of Wasatch Lawn.
