PLAYERS OF THE YEAR: East High's Mike Gosling and Bingham High's Molly McLean have been named the Gatorade Circle of Champions Utah high school baseball and softball players of the year.
Gosling, an outstanding pitcher, was also a first-team Deseret News All-State baseball selection. McLean, a standout second baseman/ outfielder, earned first-team Deseret News All-State softball honors.HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN: High school principals and guidance counselors are encouraged to nominate two seniors - one male and one female - who embody the attributes of a scholar-athlete-citizen for consideration for the fifth annual Wendy's High School Heisman Trophy.
Ogden High three-sport standout Blake Moore won the national award last year.
