Utahns can relive history Saturday while visiting sites linked with Porter Rockwell, one of the first settlers to this area.

Lehi historians Carl Mellor, John Rockwell and Richard Van Wagoner will take guests to visit many sites associated with Orrin Porter Rockwell.Activities begin at 7:30 a.m. in Lehi with a continental breakfast before the bus tour. Stops include Rockwell Station, Government Creek Ranch and Rockwell Cemetery at Lookout Point gravesite. It concludes with dinner at the Historic Lehi Hotel.

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased from John Rockwell, great-great-grandson of Porter Rockwell and chairman of the Lehi City Historical Preservation Commission, 768-9873.

Porter Rockwell was one of the first in New York to join the LDS Church and helped pay for the printing of the Book of Mormon at age 16. He was the scout and hunter for the first group of saints that fled to Utah with Brigham Young to escape persecution. In Utah, he served as a deputy marshal and was a respected rancher and businessman. He died in 1878.
