Lillian Freshman died Wednesday, June 17, 1998 after a short illness.
She was born February 6, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Salt Lake City where she married Abe A. Freshman in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1984.From the very beginning, she embraced new friends and relatives - and Salt Lake City itself, and always considered this city her home. Entering her new life with the wholeheartedness that she took on most experiences - each a new adventure and a compelling project, she joined Abe in the family-owned business, Freshman's Jewelers Supply, now run by her son, Charles and his wife, Claudia.
Her daughter, Susan Rosenthall, lives in Portland, Oregon. Lillian cherished her five grandchildren: Jacob, Zachary, Simon, Alex, and Abra. She remained closely connected to her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held Friday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.) Evans and Early Funeral Directors.
A memorial gathering in her honor will be held on what would have been her 53rd wedding anniversary, Sunday, June 21st, 2-4 p.m. at 2382 East 2815 South, in the back yard of the home she loved so much.
Lillian's request was that in lieu of flowers, contributions be given to the Utah Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2995 South West Temple, Suite C, Salt Lake City, Utah 84115.
