Expansion of Provo Municipal Airport will temporary reroute aircraft over farmlands rather than Utah Lake, increasing noise in some neighborhoods in Provo and Orem.

The airport is starting the final phase of a $14 million project to extend the primary runway. It will be complete in October. In addition, residents can expect increased construction traffic on West Center Street and other road leading to the airport.The airport has recently received reports of aircraft flying low over Utah Valley. Planes that fly too low violate federal law. To report low-flying aircraft, call the airport at 852-6715 with a description of the plane and its tail number if possible.
