Fred Toshio Aoki, age 80, died of natural causes, June 17, 1998, in Salt Lake City, UT.

Born July 13, 1917 in Seattle, Washington, to Sasuke and Rin Aoki and raised by stepmother, Hideko Aoki. He married Kiyoko June Aoki December 31, 1950 in Salt Lake City.A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was known for his smile, humility and generosity. He accepted his lot in life and never complained. He owned a grocery store for 23 years and retired from United Airlines after a 25 year career. Two of his children followed him into the airline industry.

Survivors include wife; sons, Glenn Todd and Kurtis Fred, Salt Lake City; daughter, Teresa Kimiye Wilson, Grosse Pointe Park, MI; sister, Toshiko Mayeda; brothers, Takao, Tadoa, Yoshio and Nobuo Aoki; 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Claudia Kay.

Family service Monday, June 22, 7 p.m. at the Deseret Mortuary. Interment, Mount Olivet.
