The 11th annual "Utah's Best Dam MS 150 Bike Tour" for the Utah chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, in Cache Valley. Nearly 500 cyclists from around the state are expected to pedal 150 miles (75 each day) to raise money to fight the disease.
The Utah chapter hopes to raise at least $150,000 in pledges this year. Cyclists raise money per mile pedaled or by flat donations and must raise and turn in at least $150 in donations to participate. The scenic two-day tour will begin each day at the Cache County Fair Grounds at 9 a.m. Throughout the ride, cyclists are treated to food and drink rest stops every 10 to 15 miles. The ride also has medical, communication and mechanical support personnel. When they're not riding, cyclists will be treated to massage therapists, hearty meals, free camping and festive activities.
An optional, shorter route has been designed for recreational and family cyclists. It includes a 40-mile ride each day.
