Benjamin Van Leeuwen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away June 19, 1998. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 9, 1919 to Albert Van Leeuwen and Jane Noorda Van Leeuwen. Married Betty Alice Mann, October 9, 1939. Benny worked as a painting contractor with his brohter John until 1966 at which time he went to work for Kennecott Copper. He retired in 1983.Survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Betty Jean (Jack) Burnside, Judy (Marvin) Meyer, Lynda (Greg) Peck; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, John and Don. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale; sisters, Margie and Betty; and brothers, Henry, Albert, and Carl.

The family would like to thank Sandy Regional Home Health and Applegate Home Health for all the caring, loving help given by their aides to Benny and Betty during Benny's four year convalescence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 1998, 2 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
