DIRECTIONS: Located about 35 miles east of Salt Lake City. Take I-80 to East Canyon cutoff and head north on U85. The backdoor route is to follow I-80 to Henefer, head into town and take U-85 south.

DESCRIPTION: Mountain reservoir surrounded by sagebrush and cedars. Lake is about 600 surface acres. Runs north and south with dam on northern end. It is a very deep reservoir - 150 to 200 feet in spots. Lots of open shoreline.DETAILS: Best fishing mid to late June when water is cooler and fish are in closer to shore. Some of the best early season shore fishing is by East Canyon inlet along eastern shore and bay near state park. As water warms, the fish move into deeper water. Good mid-summer areas are Taylor Hollow and Dixie Hollow bays. Boat fishermen do well anchoring and fishing traditional baits along western shoreline. Consistently good producer. Reservoir is stocked frequently during the summer.

NOTES: Fish tend to be stratified in thermalcline and are scattered all over reservoir. Fishermen need to move around to find them. If trolling, use a fish find and work those areas where fish are located. Fish can be as deep as 70 feet in the summer. There is a very nice state park on northern end, along with concessionaire offering food, fuel and boat rentals.
