The Utah County chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is seeking donated items to be used for an auction that will collect funds for special projects.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization, and donations are tax deductible. The group is looking for out-door-oriented items for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and more. Cash donations are also welcome.

This year's banquet will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Alpine Country Club in Highland. Tickets are still available for those wanting to attend. In addition to the auction, many items will be given away, including a limited-entry elk permit, a four-wheeler and a gun safe.

The foundation has completed a number of projects to benefit elk in Utah. They have included purchasing critical habitat areas and restoring and improving range lands.
