Robert Dwayne Exon, 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away after a short illness June 20, 1998.
Born March 26, 1928 in Mancos, Colorado to Henry and Myrtle Saltiel Exon. He grew up on his parent's ranch where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseback riding with his brothers and sisters. Married Vonda John, July 14, 1949. Solemnized in Salt Lake Temple. Later divorced. Married Enid Potter Dalton September 6, 1978. Solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Worked as a diesel mechanic and a long-haul truck driver. Served in many capacities in the LDS Church. Served a mission with his wife in Oklahoma from 1992-1993. He was a kind-hearted man who enjoyed serving others. Most recently volunteered service in Bountiful Temple and delivering Meals on Wheels. He loved playing pool with his friends. He coached his sons little league baseball teams. He took great pride in his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. His fun "horsie" rides will be missed.He is survived by wife, Enid; children: Karen Spencer, New Mexico; Denny Exon, Pam (Doug) Kepner, Kevin Exon, California; Johnny (Kelly) Exon, Farmington; Ginger (Chuck) Gore, Layton; Leesa (Travis) Gray, Kaysville. Step-children: Robert (Val) Dalton, Bountiful; Lorie (Dave) Burningham, Woods Cross; Dale Dalton, Layton; Ronald (Shauna) Dalton, West Valley; Andrew Dalton, Salt Lake; Annette (Terry) Cook, Idaho. 39 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters: Clarence (Bonnie) Exon, Neva (Jim) Gagnebin, Lorene (Wayne) Eaton, New Mexico; Wilma (Homer) Hartley, Colorado; Dewey (Janna) Exon, California. Preceded in death by parents; son, Orlin; and sister, Rosezella Morris.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25, 1998 at 1 p.m. at the Val Verda III Ward, 2633 South 50 West in Bountiful. Friends may call Wednesday at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the church. Internment, Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful.
