Elizabeth "Bette" Louise Evans Moon, age 73, passed away on June 21, 1998.
Bette was born September 9, 1924 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Charles and Elizabeth Evans. She attended Johnstown High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 18 and served as a WAVE during World War II in New York City and San Diego. She married Phil W. Moon, May 16, 1953 in Las Cruces, New Mexico and lived in El Paso, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to St. George. She was a charter member of WIMSA and volunteered for 17 years as a Pink Lady at the University of Utah Hospital and Dixie Regional Medical Center.She is survived by her husband, Phil; children: Kendall (Lyn) Milliken, El Paso, Texas; Gail (Frank) Salm, Phoenix, Arizona; Jeffrey (Debbie) Moon, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Tony (Andrea) Moon, Phoenix, Arizona; eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Bette was a friend and inspiration to all and will be missed by all whose lives were lucky enough to be touched by her.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Utah Diabetes Association or the Utah Heart Association.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 24, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, 300 W. St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah. 673-4221.
