Jurors in the pornography trial of Movie Buffs general manager Larry Warren Peterman were expected to reach a verdict Tuesday after hearing closing arguments from attorneys.
The five-woman, four-man jury must determine if Peterman is guilty of 15 counts of distributing pornographic material, a class A misdemeanor. During the past 10 days, the jury watched 15 movies that prosecutors say meet the legal definition of pornography.Peterman didn't contest evidence presented by prosecutors that Movie Buffs stores in Lehi and American Fork rented the edited X-rated movies in 1996. In fact, attorneys presented very little evidence to refute the charges and appear content to rely on the jury not to deem Utah County's pornography standard more prudish than other areas of the state.
