Leona Malstrom Muir, age 92, passed away June 18, 1998 in Lancaster, California.

She was born May 8, 1906 in Midvale, Utah to Clarence and May Elizabeth Wright Malstrom. Leona married Alma James Muir in Sandy, Utah on August 30, 1934. He preceded her in death March 4, 1973. Leona was an active member of the LDS Church and worked for 17 years as a Sales Clerk at J. C. Penney Co.Survived by daughter, Joann Sorensen; and husband, Darrell, California; son, Ralph Muir and wife, Dorene, West Jordan; grandchildren, Kim and Pamela Sorensen, Scott and Robin Sorensen, Douglas and Kathie Sorensen, Pat and Janet Shankle, Karl and Stacy Stanfield, Paul and Liz Muir, and Jeff Muir; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Alvin Malstrom, Sandy; sisters, Lucille Zupan, Midvale; and Doris Zupan, Orem.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel 8090 So. State St., where friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m., Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
