A Brigham Young University senior received a first-place award in a national competition for student-produced television commercials.
Brian Brough, originally of Roswell, Ga., shared first place in the National Association of Television Program Executives' competition for his public-service announcement on child-protection services. The announcement highlighted the benefits of placing children in good homes and earned Brough a $1,000 prize.The Student Television Announcement competition is sponsored by the National Association of Television Program Executives' Educational Foundation. Other students recognized for their commercials came from the University of Cincinnati, University of Texas and Utah State University.
USU student Jared Buttars' commercial, "Abortion: There is an Alternative," received honorable mention.
The association is nonprofit and dedicated to furthering excellence in television programming around the world.
