Ivan Christiansen Booth passed away at the age of 81, June 22, 1998 at Alta View Hospital, Sandy, Utah.

He was born August 31, 1916 to Christopher Stephen Booth and Valborg Christiansen Booth in Salt Lake City, UT. Ivan and his brother Gil lost their father at an early age. The two of them helped their mother through the depression years. He married Catherine Clyde on Pearl Harbor Day, 1941. They were later divorced. He married Ruth Kolts Towers July 21, 1967. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He greatly enjoyed his calling as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple for many years.He was skilled in many things, however, he excelled in the culinary arts. He was a Master Chef, owning his own restaurants and managing several food facilities. After he retired from the food business, he went back to school and became a Real Estate Agent for a few years.

Ivan's primary interest was his family. His sense of humor, patience and loving nature served him well as family patriarch. He had a very inquisitive mind and continued to learn all of the time. He took classes and became skilled at his computer. He was always understanding and thoughtful, yet humble in his relationships. He is dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his eternal companion, Ruth; children, Kathryn Booth Richins (Dee), Stephen Clyde Booth (Debbie), Jack Towers (Gloria), Merleen Towers Mortensen (John); 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Gilchrest Christiansen Booth (Grace); good neighbors and friends.

The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the staff of Alta View Hospital, especially Dr. Vere Lancaster, his physician.

Funeral service will be held Friday June 26, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Pebble Hills Ward, 8735 South Harvard Park Drive (1065 East). Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, and Friday at the Ward from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
