Rite Aid Corp. is recalling about 225,000 refillable butane gas lighters used for lighting fireplaces and barbecues. Some have defective switches that could allow them to be ignited in the off position, a federal consumer agency said.

Rite Aid, a drugstore chain based in Camp Hill, Pa., is recalling the lighters in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Com-mis-sion.The agency and Rite Aid said Tuesday they were not aware of any injuries involving the lighters. The product label says it is "perfect for lighting fireplaces, barbecues, heater pilot lights, candles and stoves." It also can be used for lighting camp lanterns, stoves and campfires.

The recalled lighters are about 11 inches long with a black plastic base, red plastic trim and a metal igniter shaft.

The writing on the lighter's side says "Made in China" and a red sticker on the lighter reads "super." The item number, 4731589-V111, is written on the bottom of the cardboard backing.

Owners are asked to stop using the recalled lighters immediately and return them to any Rite Aid store for a full refund.
