Looters run away with items in Tizi-Ouzou, Algeria, Friday after hundreds rioted in anger over the killing of a popular Berber singer who had critized both the government and the nation's Muslim insurgency. Lounes Matoub was gunned down Thursday at a fake roadblock. The shooting brought an outpouring of emotion among youths in Tizi-Ouzou, the regional capital of Algeria's Berber people. It also heightened opposition to a new Arabic-only law that bans official use of French and Berber.
