Edythe Julia Gephart Clayton, 84, loving wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), and great grandmother passed away June 25, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born November 6, 1913 in Tremonton, Utah to Harry L. and Sallie S. Gephart. Married Richard (Dick) Young Clayton, June 25, 1935. Mom attended Utah Sate University, and graduated from the University of Utah where she was affiliated with the Kappa Kappa Gamma. Employed for many years by Pembroke's in Sugar House. Mom also donated countless hours of service to the Shriners Hospital, American Red Cross, and Veterans Administration Hospital. She loved to travel. One of her first trips was to China as a young girl. She and Dick visited many foreign countries aboard various cruise lines, and you could find her on the "Fun Bus" for the monthly trip to Wendover. She was a member of the Wasatch Presbyterian Church. "She was a Grand Lady and gave of herself to anyone in need."She is survived by her son, David Y. Clayton and his wife, Kaye, West Valley City; her daughter, Christine (Sallie) Kirsinas and her husband, Vince, Long Beach, California; grandsons, Christopher (Sam), Anthony Y. (Cassy), Salt Lake City; Justin and Jason Kirsinas, Long Beach; granddaughters, Jenny Miller, Salt Lake City; Cassie (Corey) Stewart, Magna; Cammie (Greg) Skogg, Stephanie Rosenquist, Christina Clayton, West Valley City; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Richard, April, Brandy, Frank, Andrew, Anthony Y (A.J.), Mackenzie, Morgan, Gage, Haden and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, and her brother, Wesley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at 12 Noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. "The World is a Better Place Because You Were Here, Mom"
