Elmer John (Jack) Householder, Jr., 79, ended a courageous battle against cancer on June 28, 1998.

Born on Armistice Day, November 11, 1918 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Elmer John and Ruth Romania Connary Householder. Married Willadeen P. Hodges in Copperton, Utah on February 18, 1946. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 19, 1963.He was a member of the Bingham Volunteer Fire Dept. and was an avid fisherman. Began his career as a mechanic at age 14, working at Adderley and Nichols Garage. He also owned and operated a shop in Bingham Canyon and West Jordan. He was a resident of Bingham Canyon until 1960, when he moved to West Jordan. He worked for Kennecott Copper, then Jordan School District, from which he retired in 1980 after 23 years. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survived by Willadeen; daughter, Susan Boyd; sons, Steven (Linda); Todd (Ranae); 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother, and two infant sons.

Funeral service Thursday, July 2, 1998, at 12 noon at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
