Pete Turner blasted a solo-home run in the seventh inning to lift Larry H. Miller Toyota into the semifinals Sunday afternoon of the Kimberly Invitational Men's Major Fastpitch Tournament with a 1-0 victory over the Decatur Pride Saturday.

Turner's solo shot, which was over the centerfield wall, supported a stellar pitching performance from Dwayne Dyck. Dyck only allowed three hits, while defeating veteran pitcher Micheal White, who gave up just four hits.It was Miller Toyota's third victory of the tournament. Friday night, Brandon Burt's two-run home run highlighted a 6-1 Miller Toyota win over Circle Tap, which is the host team for the International Softball Congress World Tournament, Aug. 14-23. Dyck picked up the win with a four-hitter.

In an 8-1 win over Pete's of Appleton, Wis., Peter Meredith spun a two-hitter, and Tom Montgomery had a two-run home run.

Miller Toyota was slated to play at late Saturday night game against Midland, Mich., to see if the Salt Lake team would go to the tournament's semifinals as the first or second place team in its division. Meredith drew the pitching assignment.
