A huge, dilapidated dam and hydroelectric plant are located downstream from the bridge at Zvornik.
At Camp Dobol, civil affairs expert Sgt. Jack McNeeley told the story of the bridge and power plant:"During the war, the Serbs gathered a lot of the Muslims out of that city and tossed them off that bridge. Either kill them on the bridge and toss 'em, or throw 'em over," he said.
Bodies floated down the river.
"Anyway, the manager down at that dam would call up (the Bosnian commander) and say, `Quit . . . you're stopping up the system.' "
