The Ballet West Conservatory at the University of Utah will present it's ninth annual spring performance in the Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance June 12, 13.
Curtain is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the conservatory at 581-6324. The tickets, which cost $6 and $3, will also be available at the door 45 minutes prior to the performances. The Marriott Center for Dance is located north of South Campus Drive (400 South) at 1500 East.Queued up for the evening will be George Balanchine's "Serenade" and "Plums, Pears and Pomegranates," choreographed by Ballet West's Peter Christie.
Also slated for the evening will be advanced student Kenna Draxton, who will dance two variations that she performed at the Prix de Lausanne Competition in Switzerland last winter.
Other works staged by conservatory faculty Deborah Dobson Kage, Maureen Laird, Sharee Lane, Bene Arnold and Dolores Wacko will also be performed.
In addition to the dancing, U. Ballet department and conservatory pianist Anna Fester will play Chopin's Ballade No. 1.
