John Ross Lundgren, age 70, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend returned home with honor on June 5, 1998.
He was born on September 20, 1927 to John Oscar and Hilma Peterson Lundgren in Salt Lake City. Married Shirley Lawrence on January 11, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. Graduated from East High School and received a Masters degree from the University of Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy and as a missionary for the LDS Church in the East German Mission. Retired from Hercules after over 30 years of work in the Purchasing Department. He served in numerous church callings including, member of bishoprics, scout master, high priest group, ward and stake clerk, and stake records extraction coordinator. He especially loved his most recent calling with his wife in the Bountiful Temple. He enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren, acting in various plays, walks with his dog, Buddy, and serving others.Survived by his wife, Shirley of Bountiful; children, Leanne and Steve Hill (Bountiful), Janice Lundgren (Bountiful), John and Julie Lundgren (Sandy); his grandchildren, Shelby, Stefanie, Maggie, Emma and Nicholas, and many close friends and associates.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful 20th Ward, 102 E. 1400 S., Bountiful. Friends may call Sunday, June 7, 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and one hour prior to services at the Ward. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
