Be a volunteer board member for the American Cancer Society of Davis County. Interact with retail outlets on tobacco product control, present programs in the school and the community, plan fund-raising events and serve as a liaison with physicians. Deliver meals, help in the kitchen or teach china painting for the Autumn Glow Senior Center. Call Shirley at 544-1235.

Be a patient volunteer for a mildly retarded young man who needs an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor for about one year. Call Sherry at the ARC of Davis County, 299-9788, for more information.

Help deliver food to the elderly and homebound. Also help in the food bank and teach people how to budget or to find low-income housing. Contact Catholic Community Services, Yvonne at 394-5944.

Read to residents involved with Bountiful Health Care and Rehabilitation. Also, volunteers are needed to assist with activities and outings. Call Shirleen or Penney at 298-2234.

Be an advocate through the CASA program to children who are crime victims. Men and women who are multilingual are especially needed. Call Alene at 779-6522 for more information.

Help the homebound, elderly or the terminally ill through the Community Nursing Service and Hospice of Davis County. Call Sherry at 461-9500.

Assist with crisis calls, provide support for victims of domestic violence and maintain grounds at the Davis Citizens Coalition Against Violence. For information and training, call Susan at 444-3191.

Assist victims of domestic violence. Trustworthy, adult female volunteers are needed. Call Ellen at 451-4300 or 776-3163, ext. 4300.

Assist with an 18-hour relay race for the Davis County Coalition for Character. Contact Lenore at 451-3410.

Be a family advocate for the Davis County F.A.C.T. program, four to 10 hours a month. Help mentor parents of an emotionally, behaviorally or mentally disabled child. Special education knowledge is needed. A monthly stipend and mileage are available. Contact Jane at 298-3446, ext. 46.

Help stock shelves and prepare boxes of food for those in need. To volunteer, contact Roger at 773-0712.

Review inmate violations of jail rules and impose sanctions as a volunteer at the Davis County Jail. The review board meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Screening and training will be scheduled as needed. Contact Lt. Dan Horton, 451-4209 or 451-4212.

Help with office work at the Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center by assisting with light clerical work or covering lunch breaks. Hours are very flexible. Contact Cheryl Gustafson at 774-7478.

Assist the Rape Recovery Center by providing support and advocacy to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence victims. Call Peggy at 394-9456.

Work in the gift shop of the Treehouse Children's museum in Ogden as an adult volunteer in the mornings or afternoons. For training or information, call Chris at 394-9363.

Assist a woman who is blind in the Bountiful/Centerville area for the Utah Council for the Blind. Help read her mail and take her shopping and to appointments. Contact Leslie, 292-1156.
