A 2-month-old child who died in a pickup crash last month may have been the first infant killed by an air bag that could have been turned off.
Jacoba Childs was in a rear-facing infant seat on the passenger side of a truck that crashed into another pickup on May 16, according to Parma, Ohio, police. They said the child's father is accused of running a red light.
Both air bags deployed on the 1997 pickup, which was equipped with an air bag cutoff switch on the passenger side, said officer Bill Mauer.
