The Utah Museum of Fine Arts will present an "Artful Afternoon: The First Fine Arts Family Gala Picnic" on Saturday, July 18, from noon-4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will celebrate art, summer and food. The Utah State Fairpark will host the 8th Annual Days of '47 Invitational Art Show again this year. The exhibit will run from July 18-24. New this year will be the "Youth Art Show," which allows young artists from age 6-17 to participate for prizes. For more information call Joseph S. - The Smithsonian Exhibit "Barn Again: Celebrating An American Icon" will be on display at the Monticello Museum. - The Utah Museum of Fine Arts Docent Enrichment Program will present "Modern Art - What's it All About?" on Thursday, July 16 from 10 a.m.-noon at the UMFA. Speakers will be Rebecca Campbell, education curator at the Salt Lake Art Center, and Virginia Catherall, associate curator of education at the UMFA.
