Artist Gutam Paul in Calcutta, India, works on a sculpture that he hopes captures the spirit and mission of Mother Teresa. The statue of Mother Teresa carrying a baby will be installed in the city to commemorate the first anniversary of her death on Sept. 5. Sister Nirmala, the superior general of the Missionaries of Charity, has objected to the statue. Sunder Gupta, a local political figure, raised the money for the 6-foot bronze statue of Mother Teresa.
