Mariah Carey is lending her celebrity status to help authorities searching for a 13-year-old California girl.
The singer joined the family of Christina Williams at a Beverly Hills hotel this week to tape a public service announcement. "We're hoping to attract the attention of the younger crowd," said Michael Williams, Christina's father, in describing Carey's participation. "Maybe there's somebody out there who will listen to what she has to say and call."The girl disappeared June 12 from the Presidio of Monterey while walking her dog. Authorities believe she may have been abducted by two men who were seen earlier in the area harassing a jogger.
Carey said she volunteered to help after learning that Christina is a fan.
