This Is the Place State Park is hosting a Pioneer Days celebration July 23-25.
Entertainment will include pioneer games and races, Maypole dancing and strength contests. The Children's Ballet Theater will present "A Tribute to Pioneers" on July 23.A light show, "The Monument Speaks," can be seen at 9 a.m. on July 24. Also on July 24, there will be a militia muster, military brass band, and public pioneer-style dance.
Stan Christiansen will perform a show "Porter Rockwell" on July 25. A Pony Express Monument will be dedicated at 11 a.m. on the 25th.
The celebration is open July 23 from 10 a.m. until sunset, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and July 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children.
