A cellular phone may have expedited the rescue of a 14-year-old Harrisville boy who fell during a hike with his Scout troop Saturday.
Blake Hall was apparently playing in a snowfield when he lost his balance and tumbled down a steep slope, said Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Klint Anderson in a news release.Hall's Scoutmaster called for help using his cellular phone, which have become excellent emergency tools in recent years, Anderson said.
Hall was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Utah Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition Saturday night.
