A botched drug deal Tuesday morning led to the stabbing death of a 43-year-old Ogden man who was trying to sell his assailant some cocaine, police said.
Marinos Tolios was stabbed several times during the 5 a.m. confrontation in the 2300 block of Quincy Avenue, said Ogden Police Lt. Randy Watt.Several hours later, police arrested Marlon Flores, 29, hiding out in a girlfriend's home. He was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of murder.
Watt said the pair got into an argument that escalated when Flores pulled out a gun in front of a roomful of witnesses. Tolios managed to get the gun away from Flores, but then was stabbed several times in the attack. He was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Watt said although the firearm was unloaded, it is not clear if the victim knew that during the struggle.
