Utah State basketball coach Larry Eustachy is No. 2 behind Illinois State coach Kevin Stallings on a fan poll run by the Ames (Iowa) Tribune regarding which man Iowa State fans want to see as the Cyclones' new coach, replacing Tim Floyd, who moved on to the Chicago Bulls this week. However, USU athletic director Bruce Van De Velde, who officially assumed his new duties Monday, said late Thursday that Iowa State has not contacted him for permission to interview Eustachy. Eustachy is on recruiting trips and has not returned calls.
