On Thursday, July 23, 1998, our beautiful Kristi broke free from this world to walk with her Heavenly Father again. Kristi's courage, love and laughter touched everyone she met. She bravely embraced life smiling brightly through any adversity.
Born August 27, 1977 in Salt Lake City, to Kenneth and Kathy Bond. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1996 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Alliance House participating in a work day program where she made many loving friends.Kristi is survived by her parents, Kathy and Sheldon Jenkins and Kenneth and Patsy Bond; her brothers and sisters: Kevin (Julie), Kelly (Kathleen), Kasie (John) Preece, Christopher (Teri) Reid, Rebecca (Jerod) Pope, and Karen Reid; nephew, Justin Christensen; her grandparents, Hyrum and Blanche Bond, Myrna Buhannan, Russell and Ruth Jenkins, and Bea Grant; many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and her special friend Kaleb. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Blaine Grant and her dear aunts Jan Gallant and Bernice Casper.
Her family extends a special thanks to the staff and doctors at Primary Children's Medical Center and especially Dr. Marion Walker who cared for her through many years. Also the staff of LDS Hospital who did everything to save her and to everyone who offered the family love and support.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 28, 1998 at the McKinley Ward, 1883 South West Temple. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Monday, July 27, between 6 and 8 p.m. and at the church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East.
To help celebrate Kristi's life, donations can be made in her name to Primary Children's Hospital Spinal Bifida Clinic.
